Author: Arapu Valentin. Trade relations between Moldova and Poland in the second half of the 18th century, doctoral thesis in history, Chișinău, 2019. Structure: Introduction, four chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 572 tit les, annex, 171 basic text pages. The results obtained are published in 33 scientific papers. Key words: Moldova, Poland, trade relations, economic relations, commerce, merchants, commodities, import, export, ways of communication, customs. The aim of the paper is to research the trade relations between Moldova and Poland in the second half of the 18th century. The objectives of the paper are to: substant iate the principles, determine the essence and the basic objectives of the problems of trade relations between Moldova and Poland in the second half of the eighteenth century; to elucidate the degree of reflection of the Moldo-Polish trade relations problem in historiography and historical sources; highlighting the political, social and economic context of Moldova and Poland in the second half of the eighteenth century; Complex research of the trade relations between Moldova and Poland in the second half of the eighteenth century; elucidating the legal framework of the Moldovan-Polish economic relations; identifying roads, business itineraries and customs; research of import and export components by product and commodity categories; the reflection of litigations in the Moldovan-Polish economic relations; generalizing the role of merchants in expanding Moldovan-Polish trade relations in the second half of the 18th century; analysis of the internal organization and the role of the landowners in the Moldovan-Polish trade; determining the role of the Armenian community in Moldovan-Polish trade; elucidating the role and share of Jewish merchants in the MoldovanPolish economic relations; establishing the place of Moldovan-Polish trade relations in the general foreign trade of Moldova and Poland as well as the European universe economy. The novelty and scientific originality consists in the complex analysis of the trade relations between Moldova and Poland in the second half of the 18th century, based on the investigation of the archive sources and the published ones to give scientific and historiographical value to the whole, they contradictory or unknown so far. The solved scientific problem consists in the mult idimensional consolidat ion of the trade relations between the Moldova and Poland in the second half of the 18th century by highlighting the conceptual features of bilateral trade which determined the approach in the complexit y of the economic ratio between these two states in the context of the European universe economy. The use of the obtained results allows the investigated problem to be linked to the current scientific imperatives. The theoretical significance of the work embraces new perspectives in the research of the history of the trade relations of the country of Moldova, of the Romanian countries as a whole, with Poland by extending the chronological limits and the diversification of the issues addressed. The applicative value of the paper lies in the approach and research of an important historical issue with the invocation of relevant information from history-related fields: economics, geo-history, demography, numismatics, international relations and diplomacy, history of international law, epidemiology. The results of the investigation can practically serve the preparation of special courses, courses and seminars focused on both the Moldovan-Polish relations in general and on the trade relations between Moldova and Poland in the second half of the eighteenth century. Based on the didactic and scientific dimension, the results obtained will find application in the educational-educational process for students, master students and doctoral students, as well as elaboration of the synthesis work on the economic relations in particular and the modern history of Moldova and Poland in general. The implementation of the scientific results was accomplished by participating with reports and communications at national and international scientific conferences, seminars and symposia, finalized with about 33 scientific publications (16 articles and 17 theses and abstracts).
