Summary

Structure of the thesis: introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions, bibliography (257 sources). The thesisi consists of 153 text pages (130 basic text pages) and is illustrated with 13 figures, 28 tables. The results have been published in 11 scientific papers.

Field of the study:internal medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology.

Aim of the study: Evaluation of clinical and laboratory particularities in type 1 diabetes mellitus patients with pancreatic exocrine insufficiency and elaboration of the recommendations for optimizing the therapeutic approach.

Objectives: Evaluation of the exocrine pancreatic function in type 1 diabetes mellitus patients. Evaluation of the nutritional status and biochemical profile of patients with type 1 diabetes and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Establishing associations between diabetic microvascular complications, between glycemic control and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Elaboration of recommendations for the early detection of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

Scientific novelty and originality: The research has provided new data on the clinical relevance of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in patients with type 1 diabetes.Scientific solved problem: Evaluation of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in patients with type 1 DZ, elucidation of provocative factors and establishment of associations with nutritional imbalance and gastrointestinal symptoms, diabetic microvascular complications and signs of autonomic digestive neuropathy.

Theoretical significance: The results of our study argue that exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is a pathological condition with a high prevalence in type 1 diabetes mellitus patients and can be seen as a manifestation of diabetic complications. Impact of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency on the quality of life, nutritional status and prognosis of patients implies the necessity of a timely diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and optimal therapeutic measures. The applicative value of the thesis: Revealing patients with type 1 diabetes who are at a high risk of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency.

Implementation of the scientific results: The results of the study were implemented in the practical work of the specialists of the Endocrinology and Gastroenterology Departments of the Municipal Clinical Hospital ,,Sfanta Treime”, the Gastroenterology Department of the Republican Clinical Hospital ,,Timofei Mosneaga”.
