Summary

Structure of thesis: introduction, 4 chapters, general conclusions, bibliography of 298 titles, 7 annexes, illustrated by 20 tables, 28 figures and has 115 pages of basic text. The results obtained are published in 21 scientific papers.

Aim of the study: Dynamic assessment of several metabolic and inflammatory markers of myocardial infarction in order to determine the interrelation between these parameters and disease prognosis by development of a pathobiochemical panel for early evaluation.

Research objectives: Dynamic assessment of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism parameters, the markers of inflammatory process, oxidative stress, tissue hypoxia and tissue damage markers; to identify the sanguine-tissue correlations of biochemical parameters and the correlation of biochemical changes with the stages of AMI in order to establish the biochemical constellation for the early detection of IMA severity.

The novelty and the scientific originality: For the first time the interrelation of the metabolic and inflammatory deviations in the cardiac tissue and blood in different stages of experimental myocardial infarction was assesed. The spectrum of biochemical parameters in serum and homogenate having high diagnostic and predictive value for AMI was established.

The scientific problem solved in the thesis: resides in the experimental confirmation of the role of metabolic changes, inflammation and oxidative stress in the induction and progression of tissue lesions in AMI. It confirms the opportunity to estimate the correlations of the serum and tissue values of the biochemical markers, contributing to the establishment of diagnostic and prognostic predictors for this pathology.

Theoretical significance: The obtained results impose a clear vision in the interpretation of the pathobiochemical mechanisms of the AMI through the prism of metabolic and inflammatory changes. We assessed the values of the biomarkers of inflammation, oxidative stress and tissue injury in the pathogenetic stages of myocardial injury. The study proves the presence of the pre-infarction phase in the process's pathobiochemistry.

The applicative value of the research: The study can serve as a reference point for further research, which would contribute to the creation of a correlational algorithm of biochemical markers.

Implementation of the scientific results: The results of the study are applied in the teaching process at the Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry. The basic postulates of the paper can be applied in practical medicine for the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with AMI.
