Summary

ANNOTATION to the PhD thesis in Economic Sciences on "The sustainable development of pomiculture in the Republic of Moldova in terms of performance management", Dobrovolschi Ludmila Chisinau, 2020 Thesis structure: the thesis includes an introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, a bibliography of 140 titles, 21 annexes, 136 basic text pages illustrated with 42 charts, and 46 figures. The results of the research are published in 21 scientific papers with a volume of 10,12 sheets of author. Key words: performance management, performance, sustainable development, pomiculture, the Republic of Moldova, entrepreneurs, fruit production, market, value chain, investments. Field of study: Sustainable development of pomiculture in the Republic of Moldova in terms of performance management. The purpose and objectives of the research: consists in the research of performance management and determining its impact on the sustainable development of pomiculture in the Republic of Moldova, which led to the formulation of the following objectives: conceptual definition of performance management, shaping the differences of its approach during the evolutionary periods; the delimitation of the content and the characterization of sustainable development in pomiculture; identification of performance measurement tools; the determination of the level of development and particularities of the pomiculture on the local market in terms of quantity, quality, dynamics and structure; studying the problems related to the sustainable development of pomiculture; determining the levers of efficient management that support the sustainable development of the fruit sector; formulation of conclusions and recommendations. Novelty and scientific originality: consists in exposing the conceptual framework of sustainable development of pomiculture sector and its substantiation through the perspective of performance management, and consist in: concretization of the notion of management; defining the notion of performance management and the identification of its specific aspects in pomiculture; defining sustainability problems in pomiculture; determining the strategic directions for the sustainable development of pomiculture; elaboration and elucidating the impact of the developed value chain on the process of identifying export markets; improving the methodology for determining the value chain in terms of costs; the creation of the matrix on the assessment of the factors influencing the export of the fruit production of the Republic of Moldova; the creation of the matrix on determining the optimal period for the export of local fruit production; recommending ways to ensure the sustainable development of the pomiculture through the performance management perspective. The obtained result, which contributes to solving an important scientific problem, consists in the theoretical and methodological substantiation of performance management in the pomiculture, which confirmed the determination of its role in the sustainable development of this branch and the determination of outlets through the developed value chain; The methodology of scientific research involves the use of the following research methods: analysis, synthesis, monograph, observation, induction, deduction, tabulation, graphics, comparison, interviewing, etc. The theoretical significance of the thesis consists in delimiting the benchmarks for defining and approaching performance management and determining its elements and specific aspects in the pomiculture. The applicative value of the paper consists in the possibility to serve as a practical basis for understanding the concept of performance management for the entrepreneurs in the field, employees and students. The obtained results can also be used in the improvement of the activity and the policy of sustainable development of pomiculture, the formulation of decisions. The elaboration of practical guide for entrepreneurs "Export of horticultural production" comes in supports local agricultural producers in order to facilitate knowledge of the export procedures necessary for the sale of high value agricultural production on foreign markets. ; The implementation of scientific results. The scientific results were implemented by "Oztor" LTD, from Teleneşti district; "Viva-Igna''' LTD from Briceni district; Public Association "Federation of Farmers of the Republic Moldova". The research results were implemented within the framework of the research project "The sustainable development of the horticultural sector in the context of the economic security of the Republic of Moldova", nr.65P, cipher 15.858.06.02A within the State Program "The economic security in the context of the regional and European integration of the Republic Moldova ".
