The thesis is structured from the introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography 181 sources, 24 annexes, 13 figures, 13 tables. Total 150 pages. Keywords: interculturality, cultural diversity, intercultural education, competence, intercultural competence, referential technology, globalization, attitude towards another, fulfilled curiosity. The field of study refers to the general theory of education. The purpose of the research consists in the theoretical-applicative substantiation, elaboration and validation of the Model for the formation of intercultural competence for secondary school students in order to connect it to the current educational requirements. Research objectives: Establishing the theoretical framework of intercultural education, competence and intercultural competence, through the study and development of basic concepts; studying the generating factors of cultural diversity (globalization, demography, migration, linguistic diversity, etc.), as meanings of educational changes; examination of the specifics of the intercultural approach and the formation of intercultural competence of secondary school students (evolution, characteristics, functions, perspectives, dimensions, acceptances), as a success factor; the development of the reference technology for the training of students' intercultural competence (FCIE 10), as a basic training tool; the experimental exploitation of the FCIE Reference Technology (10) and the validation of the obtained results. Novelty and scientific originality. The research is circumscribed in the extracurricular secondary school environment, by identifying the directions for the formation of intercultural competence. This process includes the theoretical-applicative milestones needed to change attitudes and behaviors focused on interculturality. From this perspective: the Model of intercultural competence formation for students (secondary classes) was conceptualized; the FCIE Reference Technology (10), based on the idea of "Fulfilled Curiosity", was designed and capitalized; the Matrix of educational strategies was developed in order to train the intercultural competence of secondary school students; the Teacher Training Structure was set up in order to train intercultural competence; the Teaching Aid "Intercultural Education - 6th grade" for teachers was developed and tested. The results obtained that contributed to the solution of the scientific problem consist in the conceptualization of the Model of the formation of intercultural competence of students (secondary classes), a fact that identified the structuring and valorization of the FCIE Reference Technology (10) in direct training activities, with a view to the formation of intercultural competence at the level of students in the classes high school. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the determination of the theoretical benchmarks of intercultural education and competence, the reconceptualization of the notions of intercultural education, intercultural competence, satisfied curiosity, referential technology, the delimitation and interpretation of the aspects of intercultural competence related to the directions that generated cultural diversity; the theoretical foundation of the Model of the formation of students' intercultural competence. The applicative value of the work is found in the establishment and confirmation of formative tools, which find their relevance in practical utilization, having general value and constituting, at the same time, the premise of supplementing school activities in order to be effective. Implementation of scientific results. The scientific results were used in the Romanian schools (I.C. Lăzărescu Secondary School, Țițești, Argeș county; Micești Secondary School, Argeș county), at the level of 255 pre-experiment and experiment students and in other schools in the county , at the level of 54 teaching staff. .
