The investigation is dedicated to the problem of the lyceum pupils’ research competence. In this research, there were analysed the perspectives of an education based on some competences within the national and international evolution of the educational policy.
Different variants of defining competence were analyzed in order to propose a proper definition and the concept of research competence was also defined, deriving from the informational competence.
A special place and role in the research has the concept of participative research and the phycho-pedagogical implications of the teenagers’ peculiarities.
The final product of the theoretical research is the pedagogical model of the investigation competence development, based on some psycho-pedagogical guidelines, characteristic to the development of the research competence, that include principles, four strategic components that include some theories, rules, strategies, proven by the experiment.
For the development of the research competence, some tasks were elaborated and for establishing the level of the competence development – a system of indicators.
The results of the research have acknowledged the investigation hypothesis and the thezis papers submitted for the defence, proving the necessity of the research competence development among lyceum pupils.
