Summary

The present thesis is dedicated to the study of fundamental concepts and social - political realities of society such as political parties and political power, as well as their manifestations in the Republic of Moldova. The importance of further institutionalization and legitimization of political parties and political power is underlined.

The first chapter of the dissertation contains the theoretical and methodological basis of the behavioral patterns adopted by political parties in the system of power relations. In this context notions, conceptions, methodologies and theories regarding methods, problems and perspectives of the correlation: political parties versus political power are analyzed. These two phenomena decisive for the given research are reviewed both separately and in their interdependence.

Chapter two examines praxiological problems of the Moldovan social and political practice connected with the behavior of political parties in the framework of political power correlation with other types of powers, namely social, economic and cultural power. It allows elaborating more generalized vision and clearer approach to the discussed phenomena and makes possible an elucidation of some issues insufficiently studied by local political science.

In the third chapter of the research the state power as a particular case of political power is studied. The interaction between political parties and main branches of power (legislature, executive, judicial) is considered taking into account that the role of parties in this relationship often is underestimated. Their role in the legitimization of state power is investigated also.

One of the main conclusions of the study is in the statement that the grade of development and consolidation of the political system of Moldovan society categorically depends on the quality and level of the political parties’ institutionalization.
