Summary

Doctor’s dissertation paper represents a complex sociological inter-disciplinary with regards to the role of the human capital in the economic and social development of the country. The theoretical base is supported by the scientific achievements in this area realized in our country and abroad. Empiric basis represent the result of local and national sociological studies with direct implication of the author.

The Introduction argues the actuality of the topic, the grade of issue investigation is estimated, the subject and objective of the research, the scope and objectives of the work, se scientific innovation and theoretic and practical importance of the research is justified, volume and thesis structure is indicated.

In chapter I „Theoretic-methodological basis of the human capital research” conceptual aspects of the human capital are delimited, theory and conceptual statements of the human capital aspects is reflected, specifics of human capital research methodology is studied and the human capital study model of Republic of Moldova is elaborated.

In chapter II „Particularity of the formation, development and improvement of the human capital in the Republic of Moldova” are examined particularities of the educational system and vocational training, access to education, health state of the population and access to medical assistance during the years of social transformation. The problems of the human capital improvement are reflected in the context of social transformation.

In chapter III „Investment in human capital – the fundamental condition of sustainable development” investigation emphasis is made on investment efficiency in the human capital and role of the human capital in the economic growth as well as sustainable development of a society. The correlation between the level of education, age, occupation and income is analyzed.

Conclusions are made and recommendations are elaborated based on theoretic - empirical analysis on improving the human capital within sustainable development context.
