Summary

The study of history of economic orders shows that the evolution of society is followed closely by a permanent process of redistributing objects and ownership rights. The study of issues related to ownership phenomenon already has a significant importance for the Republic of Moldova given the fact that during the XX-th century ownership relations undertook double reformation: at the beginning of the century overall forms of private ownership of property were transformed forcefully into forms of socialist ownership of property, and finally, at the end of the century it was already the socialist ownership of property that was subject to transformations.

The issue of ownership phenomenon is up-to-date even for developed countries given the evolution of private ownership of property and the wave of nationalization processes. What becomes more evident is the issue of world ownership related to such matters as underground environment, planetary ocean, and cosmic space. This sort of proprietorship becomes a phenomenon of world order.

This research aims at assessing the place and role of ownership in establishing economic order and elaborating recommendations as to sufficient usage of that economic order.

On the basis of systematizing the liaison of ideas regarding the essence of economic order a new definition of this complex category was proposed and thoroughly asserted. While examining the interference between economic order and ownership relations there were outlined ways through which ownership relations influence the economic order. When identifying the specifics of ownership relations modifications in different countries, the impact of political regime upon privatization results was found out. Moreover, the provisions of the Coase theorem were applied in the analysis of privatization process in the Republic of Moldova. The author of this research built an econometric model of public and private sector size and determined the points of sectoral equilibrium for the situation of the Republic of Moldova.

The results of this research allow forming a more complex view of necessary conditions to establish and maintain the economic order in the Republic of Moldova. The present research paper can be used in the elaboration of a strategy of modifying ownership relations taking into account privatization principles, ways of assessing companies subject to privatization and the degree of legitimacy of privatized objects. The thesis materials may serve as a theoretical and methodological basis to develop normative acts regarding a more exact definition and a more secure protection of ownership rights. The research results may also serve as additional didactic material for such disciplines as Economic Doctrines, Institutional Economy, Economy in Transition, and History of National Economy.
