Summary

PhD Thesis in Medicine. Chisinau, 2010. The thesis size is 122 pages all in, including general references, 6 chapters, conclusions, practical recommendations, bibliography from 216 scientific sources, 5 annexes, 34 tables, 19 figures. The thesis and the support ideas of the study have been revealed in 6 scientific works.

Field of study. Patients with relapsed or metastatic ovarian cancer who were subject to combined treatment (surgical+chemotherapy) and complex treatment (surgical +chemotherapy+radiotherapy).

Study Object. 1. Analysis of the causes of residual tumors of the relapses and metastases in the small pelvis in patients with ovarian cancer. 2. Clinical study and diagnostic methods of the relapses and metastases in the small pelvis in patients with ovarian cancer. 3. Analysis of the results in combined therapy (surgical and chemotherapy) in relapses and metastases of ovarian cancer in the small pelvis. 4. Assessment of the complex treatment (surgical+chemotherapy+radiotherapy) efficiency of relapses and metastases in the small pelvis in patients with ovarian cancer. 5. Elaboration of algorithms on diagnostics and treatments in patients with ovarian cancer with relapses and metastases in the small pelvis. Novelty and scientific originality.

For the first time in the Republic of Moldova, it has been made a complex study in the treatment of the relapsed and metastatic ovarian cancer in the small pelvis and it has been ascertained as it follows:
1. The causes of the residual tumors and of the relapses and metastasis in ovarian cancer in the small pelvis.
2. The algorithms for the diagnosis as well as for the treatment of the relapses and metastases in ovarian cancer in the small pelvis were defined.
3. For the first time, we analyzed the efficacy of the radiotherapy in relapses and metastases in ovarian cancer in the small pelvis.
4. The indications and the contraindications of the radiotherapy in the complex treatment of the relapses and metastases of ovarian cancer in small pelvis have been assessed. Theoretical signification. Theoretical and practical aspects of the complex treatment of the relapsed and metastatic ovarian cancer in the small pelvis is presented and argued on the basis of associated radiotherapy (telegammatherapy + brachytherapy) application.

Practical application of study. On clinical data and theoretical studies, it has been assessed the results of the combined treatment (surgical+chemotherapy) and the complex treatment (surgical + chemotherapy+radiotherapy) and it has been defined the indications and the contraindications in the treatment of relapsed and metastatic ovarian cancer in small pelvis.
