Summary

This work presents the data of investigations effected during the period of 1998 and 2004 on rivers network of Raut river basin with a view to follow the evolution of morphometric parametres which characterize the whole system of the beginning and at the end of the XX-th century, there were made some investigations concerning the main affluents as Cubolta, Cainar, Ciuluc, Cula, Solonet, Cogilnic and Raut at the confluence with Cubolta. The appearance of new river segments, the modification of lengths and basin surfaces were determined by the particular interaction of environmental factors from this space. For a successful realization of the proposed aims, there were used topographical maps which characterize the the drainage of basins studied in 1913 and 1986, on 1:100000 scale, in Strahler classification system.

Using the cartometric methods there was created the data basis which consists of 8 annexes, each of them having two tables with the specification of a value series which characterizes the number of river segments and basins, of summed total and medium lengths, of summed and medium surfaces for both time landmarks. There were made 5 drainage maps which reflect the structural modifications in time, but the graphical representation of statistic values in logarithmical coordinates and their analysis regarding the size order underlined the confirmation in all the cases of Horton laws. Laboratory works were completed by the information obtained during “Raut-99,, ecological expedition, the theoretical material consulted with experts from Bucuresti Geography Institute (Romania) and Lvov University (Ukraine), Faculty of Geography.

The work presents an appreciation of modifications intervened in these basins, underlining an aggravation of environment conditions caused by the morphometrical modifications, the erosion enhancement, the high flood waves enhancement, the intensification of soil lasses, etc. According to the investigations and conclusions, there are proposed concrete measures (about 10) on the purpose to improve the environment conditions of Raut river basin, namely orientated to the reduction of erosion intensity and rational capitalization of natural resources.
