Summary

Structure of thesis: introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography consisting of 169 titles, 9 annexes, 131 pages of basic text, 52 figures, 52 tables. The obtained outcomes are published in 6 scientific works. Studied domain: Ophthalmology - 14.00.08

The aim of the work: To assess efficiency and optimize the treatment of refractive amblyopia by electro-stimulation (ES), photomagnetic stimulation (FMS) of the visual analyzer and computerized training, applied separately and jointly.

Objectives: 1. A complex clinico-functional dynamical analysis of the visual analyzer among patients with refractive amblyopia. 2. Assessment of a complex treatment efficiency (ES jointly with FMS of the visual analyzer, computerized training via „eYe” program) applied in case of refractive amblyopia. 3. Assessment of a complex treatment efficiency (ES jointly with FMS of the visual analyzer) applied in case of refractive amblyopia. 4. Assessment of a computerized training efficiency via „eYe” program applied separately in case of refractive amblyopia. 5. Analysis of the therapeutic effect depending on the degree of amblyopia, patient’s age and the applied method of treatment. 6. Analysis of the obtained outcomes, estimation of an optimal treatment, elaboration of practical recommendations.

The methodology of the scientific research comprises research methods for treatment efficiency via various methods of the refractive amblyopia.

The scientific novelty of the obtained outcomes: Assessment of treatment efficiency for refractive amblyopia by ES, FMS of the visual analyzer and computerized training, applied separately and jointly has been made for the first time; the research outcomes allowed estimation of treatment efficiency depending on the type, degree of refractive pathology and patient’s age; it has been demonstrated that the treatment of refractive amblyopias is efficient among children aged over 8-9 years.

The theoretical significance completes knowledge in the treatment of refractive amblyopia by joint application of new methods.

The application value of the work: The carried out analysis allows optimization of refractive amblyopia treatment depending on the type, degree of refractive pathology and patient’s age as well as its immediate application after giving a diagnosis due to the fact that the method represents a treatment system of a high efficiency and minimal duration.

Implementation in practice: In the curative activity of MC”Oftalmocorrect”.
