Thesis structure. The thesis contains annotations in Romanian, Russian and English languages, list of the abbreviations, introduction, four chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography (286 titles), 125 pages basic text. The obtained results were published in 12 scientific papers.
Purpose and objectives: The basic purpose of the paper consists of the observation, presentation and analysis of the consequences in linguistic plan, appeared in Romanian language as a result of the contacts with other idioms. For the achievement of this purpose, we proposed ourselves the following objectives: to classify and analyze the main definitions and points of view dedicated to the idioms in contact; to reveal the specificity of the development of Romanian language in the conditions of diglossia; to establish the periods of diglossia in the history of Romanian language; to delimit the periods of production of Romanian-Slavic contacts; to analyze the consequences of these contacts; to reveal the specificity and the consequences of the Romanian-Russian contact from Bessarabia; to describe the situation of the Romanian dialects being in the foreign-tongued environment; to present some aspects of the linguistic interferences (borrowing and change of code).
Novelty and scientific originality: This scientific paper proposes a first monographic description of the situations of diglossia from the history of Romanian language, with entire range of characteristics, effects and consequences reflected in the language.
Theoretical significance and applicative value. The results of the researches come to complete the existent studies related to the contact of Romanian language with other idioms. These may serve as theoretical-methodological reference point, and as practical one, for the design of some deeper studies, university courses of language history, editing of some books designed to be used in teaching Romanian language to the classes of non-native speakers.
Implementation of scientific results. The results of the present researches were implemented in the process of didactic activity, during practical and theoretical courses of communication, editing of journalistic texts and of some books for non-native speakers from higher education.
