Summary

To the PhD thesis in medicine by Chihai Jana, on the subject: “Rationale of the community-based services for patients with psychic disorders”, Chişinău 2010. The present thesis includes: introduction, five chapters, conclusions and practical recommendations introducere, cinci capitole, concluzii şi recomandări practice, the bibliography comprises 159 literary sources, 9 annexes, 126 pages of basic text, 19 pictures, 6 tables. The achieved results are published în 21 scientific sources.

The object of the present study are people with mintal health problems, their relatives and families, providers of the mintal health services – medical and social from the Republic of Moldova.

The goal of the research is: Assessment of the necessities in care of people with psychic disorders and activities of providers of mental health services and elaboration of scientific, methodological and practical measures to integrate community-based services for this category of patients.

The objectives of the research are: 1. Determination of the necessities in assistance and care for people with mintal health problems, their relatives and families. 2. Assessment of the providers‟ opinion regarding the quality of rendered health and social services. 3. Evaluation of all existing Community Mintal Health Center in Republic of Moldova. 4. Elaboration of a model of community-based services in rendering community assistance for patients with psychotically diseases.

The methodology of the study used in the present thesis is of descriptive type and allows describing the problem in the function of time, person and space. According to the volume there was effectuated integral study on the basis of official statistical data and selective study. In order to determine medico-social aspects of psychic disorders there was elaborated a special questionnaire.

The scientific innovation of the research is that for the first time in the Republic of Moldova there was carried out: a. assessment of Mintal Health services; b. determination of the medico-social aspects of the patients with psychic disorders, of their families and relatives; c. analysis of the providers‟ opinion regarding medical and social services rendered people with metal health problems; d. model of Community Mintal Health Center (CMHC).

Theoretical relevance: The research‟s results can be used by the management bodies from medical and social fields, by the managers, professionals, family doctors, in the field of mintal health promotion, inclusive education and social inclusion, for deinstitutionalization of people with mintal health problems.

Applied relevance: Models of CMHC, program for psychosocial rehabilitation and system of development of community-based mintal health services for people with psychic disorders suggested in the thesis can be implemented in the RM.

Implementation of results: The research‟s results are used in the National Program regarding mintal health for 2007-2011 in the RM, at the elaboration of normative acts regarding community-based mintal health services and their integration in the general health system, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Health of the RM “With the regards to the CMHC” nr.8 of 17.01.2009 and at the elaboration of analytical university and post-university programs.
