Summary

Structurally, the thesis consists of: introduction, three chapters, conclusions for each chapter, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 171 items, glossary of 53 definitions, 150 pages of the main text, 6 pages of annexe, 4 tables, 5 figures. The contents of the thesis are presented in 12 scientific publications.

The domain of the thesis covers a stylistic – neuro – lingvo – pragmatic analysis of nowadays deicitics political speech, especially used in election campaigns programs for the past years.

The purpose and objectives of the thesis consist in the representation of the deictics as intentional discursive strategies, relational elements, textual connectors, pragmatic codes which help abstract, generalize the message of the election campaign. The thesis presents the concept of „deixis” in speciality literature, studying deictics in political speech: interpretation and pragmatism, statistics and analysis.

The scientific innovation and originality of the thesis consist in a vast amount of factual information collected from the past years political speech, suggestion of pragmatic models of interpretation of deictics, determination of their semantic varieties, presentation of diachronic statistics of deictics use in contemporary political speech, formulation of theoretical and practical conclusions, contributing to the completion and improvement of theoretical and applied knowledge covered in the contemporary national and international speciality literature.

Important scientific problem solved in the investigated area. Deictics mark the textual organization, thus becoming the most adequate tools (linguistic marks) used by the political actors to abstract their political speech, influencing and guiding the receiver, the interlocutor.

The methodology of the scientific research is based on direct observation method, descriptive method, selective analysis, contextual analysis, statistical method (a variety of quantitative method), comparative method, as well as analysis and synthesis as general methods.

The theoretical significance and applied value of the work consists in the possibility to use the proposals, ideas, patterns of interpretation for the formation of any political speech or in any linguistic and pragmatic political study.

The implementation of scientific results. The main thesis of the research can serve as an instructional material for students, MA and PhD students of the Philology Department, communication science, political science, and other fields’ specialists.
