Summary

Thesis structure: The work includes an introduction, four chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliographic references of 263 sources, basic text of 182 pages. The obtained results are published in 14 articles of the specialized magazines and reported at national and international conferences in Moldova and Romania.

Study domain: International public law, law of international organizations, peaceful settlement of conflicts.

Thesis goal and objectives: is referred to the establishment of a causal link between the organization and holding of peace operations, and practical settlement of ethno political conflicts on a world scale. Objectives of the work are directed to the establishment of typology of ethno political conflicts, presentation of mechanisms put in practice by international organizations in their peace making activity, as well as the ascertain of particularities of Romanian and Moldavian forces participation in international peacekeeping operations.

Scientific novelty and originality: The obtained results of scientific research develop and complete national theoretical base regarding concept, essence, typology and particularities of international peacekeeping operations in the context of settlement of ethno political conflicts, with the positioning of the conflict in a large international framework formulates the main scientific and practical concepts on the settlement of ethno political conflicts through international peace operations in the territory; analyzes different international operations organized and held by the United nations and regional organizations, which are competent to maintain international peace and security.

Significant scientific problem solved: resides in the multilateral presentation of international peacekeeping operations with the establishment of their specific features in order to prove their main role in the process of efficient settlement of ethno political conflicts of the world from the perspective of international public law; so as due to the research of concrete operations and missions are determined general and abstract conclusion to develop clear solutions applicable to every existing or possible ethno political conflict.

Theoretical significance of the research: The study is of clear scientific character, being directed to the analyze of legal regarding particular mechanisms of settlement of ethno political conflicts in modern world, being studied international acts, theoretical considerations and specific information to the practical holding of peacekeeping missions, with the formulations of distinct perspectives of conflict resolution.

Practical value of the research: The beneficiaries of the investigation are the collaborators of national and international structures form the domain of peace and security maintenance, such as those from ministries of foreign and internal affairs, defense offices, international officers, diplomats, military corpus.

Implementation of scientific results: The results, conclusions and recommendations formulated during the research are exposed in texts of scientific publications in specialized magazines, as well as shared during national and international conferences.
