Summary

Cristina Ciobanu "Species Cynara scolymus L. - source of new pharmaceuticals", PhD thesis in pharmacy, Chisinau 2015. The thesis has 108 pages of basic text and consists of the following sections: introduction, four chapters, conclusions and recommendations. The thesis is illustrated with 32 tables, 59 figures, 17 appendices, 168 bibliographic sources. The results are published in 15 scientific papers. Keywords: Cynara scolymus L., Cynarae folia, biometrics, macroscopy, microscopy, polyphenols, flavonoids, fluid extracts, granulates, ultrasonic extraction, spray drying granulation, spectrophotometry, high performance liquid chromatography, optimization, standardization, validation, tablets, stability, antioxidant, acute toxicity, analytical normative documentation. Field of study: 316.01-Pharmacy The purpose of the thesis consists in a complex study of the species C. scolymus L. cultivated in the Republic of Moldova, qualitative and quantitative determination of chemical compounds, obtaining extractive products, evaluation of biological activity, obtaining and standardization of pharmaceutical solid forms. The objectives of the paper: biometric study of C. scolymus L; macroscopic and microscopic study of Cynarae folia; quality assessment of Cynarae folia; dynamic accumulation of active principles; obtain and study the optimization of extractive products from artichokes; study of antioxidant activity according to polyphenol and flavonoid contents; formulation and standardization of pharmaceutical products containing standardized liquid extract; determine the acute toxicity of the extracts obtained from Cynarae folia; development of pharmacopoeia monographs and technological regulations of pharmaceutical production. Novelty and scientific originality. For the first time were evaluated biometric, macro- and microscopic artichokes grown in the climatic conditions of the country; were applied experimental design plans for phenolic compounds extraction optimization; was studied the antioxidant activity of whole plant; were formulated tablets with standardized extract. The scientific problem consists in emphasizing the species C. scolymus L. by biometric study, morphological and anatomical, phytochemical, biological pharmacotechnical and to develop analytical documentation of quality standards for artichoke leaves and artichoke tablets. The theoretical significance of the thesis consists in the current state of knowledge about the species C. scolymus L. and supplementing them with new treasury issues relating to plant biometrics, principles of chemical compounds extraction and obtaining of pharmaceutical forms out of them. The value of work. The results of the current research can serve in introducing to cultivation of C. scolymus L. and in obtaining pharmaceutical products with local raw materials standardized in polyphenolic and flavonoid content. Practical implementation of the research results. Based on experimental results were developed the pharmacopoeia monographs "Artichoke leaves, 50 g", approved by pharmaceutical manufactory “Medfarma” PLC; pharmacopoeia monograph "Artichoke tablets, 5 mg", technological and production rules of "Artichoke tablets, 5 mg" approved by pharmaceutical manufactory "RNP Pharmaceuticals" PLC.
