The purpose and objectives of the thesis: is to identify the impact of globalization and European integration on tourism, approach tourism development concept simultaneous with environmental protection, increasing service quality, and sustainable development of the national economy in the context of globalization and European integration. The scientific novelty of the thesisincludes the following elements: Was developed the theoretical and methodological basis of the impact of globalization and European integration on tourism; it was determined from the multilateral perspective of the synthesis of theoretical problems and historical premises of tourism; it was approached conceptual about tourism as economic and social phenomenon; were designed defining elements of sustainable tourism development in terms of European integration and globalization; it was determined role and know-how of rural tourism in national and international tourism promotion; it has analyzed the impact of tourism development on the sustainable development of the national economy; were applied, based on calculations, measures of the contribution of tourism to sustainable development of the national economy that showed the impact of European integration and globalization on the development of tourism at national level. Important scientific problem solved: Scientific problem solved is to develop the conceptual framework of tourism development in terms of European integration and globalization based on the implementation of advanced technologies, the identification of tools for measuring the contribution of tourism to sustainable development of the national economy. Understanding how current Romanian heritage tourism an develop and modernize the activities of recovery and promoting tourist areas in adopting the principles of sustainable development and globalization of tourism services is an important element in resolving these issues, approach and thorough study enabling them to identify viable solutions for growth degree of exploit the potential of Romanian tourism. Value of the work: A work shall be deducted from the possibility of using the findings of the thesis and main positions to identify objective factors of application of the system of indicators of economic efficiency in tourism at national, regional and international level, international cooperation and European integration in a globalized world. The implementation of scientific results: Conclusions and recommendations as well as many parts of the thesis main ideas were presented at symposia, national or international conference participation. Applicative research results were presented to implement the basic ideas developed in the thesis to ANTREC, FPTR, CEDES Cercetare-Dezvoltare, RezEx.
