Summary

Structure of the thesis: The thesis includes an introduction, three chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 168 titles, 40 tables, 40 figures, 34 annexes, 152 pages of text. The results are published in 12 scientific papers, 3,9 c. s.

Field of study of the thesis: occupation concepts, economic and social problems of rural youth occupation; trends and issues facing rural youth work activity in Moldova; priority directions of stimulating youth employment activities in rural areas.

The purpose of the thesis is to analyse occupation problems of rural youth in Moldova and to elaborate social and economic measures to stimulate the active involvement of rural youth in labour activities.

Research objectives: determination and concretization of stages of evolution of labour force occupation concept; highlighting and classification of national and international programs supporting rural youth; highlighting causes of youth migration from the rural sector; analyzing of youth access to education, health care and information; formulation of directions and priority measures to stimulate youth occupation in rural area; elaboration of a medium-term forecast on rural youth occupation.

Scientific novelty and originality of the research is: (1) determination and concretization of stages of evolution of labour force occupation concept; (2) highlighting socio-economic problems facing rural youth in Moldova; (3) development of concrete measures to support rural youth occupation; (4) elaboration of a medium-term forecast (2014-2020) on rural youth occupation; (5) developing measures to stimulate social and economic development of rural youth in entrepreneurship.

Important scientific problem solved is the elaboration of social and economic measures of stimulation of rural youth occupation in Moldova in the labor market, which will help to increase the occupation rate and to launch the entrepreneurial activity, to stop migration from rural areas and to increase contribution to economic development.

Theoretical and practical value of the thesis lies in the elaboration and argumentation of practical measures to increase the occupation rate of young workforce; elaboration and argumentation of measures to develop social infrastructure in rural areas in order to attract youth into employment; developing measures at institutional, economic and social level in order to remove difficulties facing rural youth in the employment and entrepreneurship; elaboration of practical recommendations on reducing social contributions for young employees, reimbursement costs of training rural youth; boosting rural youth in obtaining preference consumer loans; supporting of young families in rural areas.

Implementation of scientific results: the core content of the paper was discussed at national and international conferences. Scientific research results have been applied by the author in the work of business incubators in the North of the country, Transnistria and in UTA Gagauzia.
