Structure of the work: Introduction, four chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, including 136 pages of main text, a bibliography containing 246 titles, and appendixes (catalogue of monuments, 39 illustrations, 28 tables).

The aim of the thesis: The main purpose of the study is to collect, organize and analyze all the available archaeological complex of sources related to the Chernoles culture population on the territory between the Dniester and Dnieper.

Objectives of the thesis: comprehensive analysis of the monuments of the Chernoles culture; systematization and classification of fortified and unfortified settlements; characteristics of residential and household constructions, as well as other findings; elaboration of the periodization and chronology of the Chernoles culture.

Scientific noveltyof the work lies in the comprehensive study of the Chernoles monuments, detailed classification of residential, household and other constructions, as well as hand-made pottery. General overview of the Chernoles culture is extended; its local zones are defined. There are outlined ways of contacts between the Chernoles population and the tribes of the Carpathian- Danube region, the Northern Black Sea steppes, and the Caucasus.

Scientific problem solved:As a result of research it was solved a scientific problem related to the distribution and localization of the monuments of Chernoles culture in the territory between the Dniester and Dnieper. Thus, it was possible to separate the seven local groups that have a number of common features, but at the same time differ on a number of grounds.

The theoretical value of the work lies in identifying and highlighting the most important aspects of life of the Chernoles culture bearers, and also in studying the economic and cultural relations with the tribes of synchronous cultures.

The practical significance of the work: The results can be used to create sets of archaeological sources, archaeological maps, for writing general works on the prehistory of the Dniester- Dnieper interfluve and the adjacent forest-steppe and steppe areas.

Implementation of scientific results: The results of research are reflected in the lecture courses and workshops conducted by the author of the work in the History Department of the Tiraspol State University.
