Structure of the thesis: annotation, introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography (210 titles), exposed on 161 pages of basic text, 48 figures, 19 tables and 21 annexes. The results of the research have been published in 8 scientific papers.
Investigation field: Specialty 521.02 - World Economy; International Economic Relations. The purpose and the objectives of the research. The aim of the research is the measures analysis to strengthen the energy security of the Republic of Moldova examined as a tool to adapt to the challenges of globalization in terms of global economic instability. As to achieve the aim proposed, were traced and achieved the following objectives: the systematization and critical interpretation of the conceptual approaches on security in order to identify its essence, content and forms of manifestation; a critical approach to the relevant theories of the research, methods and indicators for measuring the level of the national energy security; the assessment of the interdependence between world energy security and global economic instabilities; identifying the distinctive features and formation mechanisms of the world energy prices; the description of the national energy sector and the competitiveness assessment of the RM energy markets; elaboration of a model for assessing and determining the degree of interdependence between energy security and the economic growth of the country; the assessment of the national Energy Architecture Performance Index.
The scientific novelty and the originality of obtained results are reflected by the systematization, theoretical and scientific development of the concepts of energy security, economic instability, energy risks and the analysis mechanism of the energy prices through the study of relevant literature; the development and calculation of the fiscal pressure index on GDP per capita, that allows evaluating the absorption capacity of the energy taxes through the consumers wellbeing; the quantitative assessment of the impact of energy consumption on economic growth in the national economy through an econometric model based on the Cobb- Douglas function; the analysis of the RM economy vulnerability to energy market fluctuations by calculating the price elasticity of demand of energy resources and national energy intensity; the assessment of competitiveness of the national energy sector by calculating Herfindahl Hirschman Index, concentration rate, Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient; the developing and calculating the energy triangle model, which estimates the level of the Energy Architecture Performance Index compared to the international reference values.
The important solved scientific problem in the thesis consists in the determination of the interdependence between energy security and national economical growth, which allowed the developing and calculating a set of indicators to measure the national energy security, for subsequently use by authorized institutions as a tool for monitoring, management and ensuring national security.
The theoretical signification and the applicative value of the thesis consist in the developing theoretical and practical recommendations on improving energy security under the conditions of world economic instability.
Implementation of scientific results: some results of the thesis were implemented by the Center
