Summary

The thesis consists of: introduction, four chapters, conclusions and recommendations, and also contains 219 references, 9 annexes. It is presented on 115 pages of basic text, 39 tables and 12 figures. The obtained results are published in 8 scientific papers.

Field of the study: Ecology.

The aim of the study: Development the bio monitoring of environmental quality in the Republic of Moldova through Apis mellifera L. and their products, elaboration of some proposals for evaluation the pollution levels of natural and anthropogenic ecosystems.

Objectives: Determination the contents of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cu) and pesticides residues (organochlorine, organophosphate and pyrethroid) in the environmental components, in the bees body and in the beekeeping products; establishing the correlation of environmental pollution with honey bee and its products; studying the influence of pollutants on vital activity of bee families and their productivity, elaboration of proposals for environmental quality assessment.

Scientific novelty and originality. For the first time in the Republic of Moldova, it was performed a complex scientific research for monitoring environmental quality through honeybee regarding the content and distribution of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cu) and pesticides (organochlorine, organophosphate and pyrethroid) in the environmental components (soil, water, flowers), bees and bee products (pollen, honey and propolis) in areas with different anthropic impact. It was studied the influence of heavy metals on the bees families viability and productivity. It was elucidated the relationship of heavy metals and pesticides concentration in the environmental components and their concentration in the bees body and bee products.

The scientific problem solved in the thesis, consist in the development of apimonitoring for the estimation of the environmental quality, which has led to the the elaboration of a method that increases the objectivity of assessing the degree of environmental pollution, which allowed a wide user accessibility by concerned persons (beekeepers, farmers, ecologists etc.).

Theoretical significance of the study: the scientific research results have been completed with new knowledge on the content and distribution of heavy metals in the environmental components (soil, water, flora), bees and bee products (pollen, honey, propolis) in areas with different anthropic impact.

The practical value.
