Summary

The thesis comprises an introduction, three chapters, conclusions and recommendations, a bibliography of 273 entries and annexes. The basic text of the thesis covers 158 pages. The results of the present study were published in 14 research articles.

The domain of study is the theory of text and of its multiple reading at the crossroads of semio-linguistic and hermeneutical approaches.

The goal and objectives of the research are to propose a theoretical model of the multiple reading and to confirm the thesis that the intertextuality is the leading text category that determines its multiple reading.

The research novelty and originality resides in the complexity of the object of study. In this paper we apply a new integrating model of the text multiple reading, taking into account, at all analysis levels, the interaction intertext – text – reader. We elucidate the intertextual reading theory and practice, based on the complementarity between the three re-readings, corresponding respectively to comprehension, interpretation and application, which produces the textual semiosis. The intention of our model is to highlight the complexity of the studied phenomenon and also its quasi-globality, by trying to order its variables.

The important scientific problem solved in the investigated area. The research develops an interpretative model, based on the concept of intertextual reading and on the linguistic resources that allow its actualization.

The theoretical value of the research is determined by the interdisciplinary approach to some major issues discussed in linguistics and theory of reading. Our attempt is significant, in this thesis, to widen the field of linguistic research by investigating a unit that transcends even the textual level, the intertext.

The practical value of the research. The results of the study can serve to further investigations on various aspects of the problems discussed. The study can also enrich the content of such university courses as Text Analysis, Hermeneutics, Text Grammar, Pragmatics and Stylistics.
