The focus of this research was to establish the methodology of physical-chemical control for the mother tinctures and dilutions Berberis and Chelidonium, dried bark of barberry roots and fresh celandine roots, based on up-to-date methods of analysis, also to elaborate the Normative Technological Documents (TPM).
The identification and separation methods of alkaloids from mother tinctures Berberis and Chelidonium and respective raw materials have been elaborated using thin-layer chromatography. The quantitative analysis of principal compounds in studied objects by chemical and microchemical reactions was carried out.
The necessary conditions for most full isolation of the active matter from objects of inquiry by extraction, TLC and column chromatography using alumina as a stationary phase have been studied and specified.
To assay the berberine and total alkaloids in mother tinctures Berberis and Chelidonium and destined for their preparation raw materials the procedures using UV-spectrophotometry after extraction, after separation by TLC or without preextraction have been developed.
The procedures using spectrofluorimetric method have been proposed, which may be used for the assay of berberine and total alkaloids in mother tincture and homoeopathic dilutions Berberis. For the first time in RM quantitative analysis of active substances in homoeopathic dilutions up to 6D was carried out.
The unified procedure using HPLC has been developed, which may be used for the identification, separation and assay of some alkaloids from celandine roots.
The quality and purity parameters of homoeopathic mother tinctures and plant raw materials have been studied. The stability during experimental storage at room temperature (200C) has been studied for dried bark of barberry roots, mother tinctures Berberis and Chelidonium. The shelf life tests permitted to assume a period of validity 2 years for all indicated plant preparations.
The carried out researches have allowed to develop the Temporary Pharmacopeic
Monographs, namely: „Bark of barberry roots”, „Homoeopathic tincture “Berberis”“, „Fresh
celandine roots”, „Homoeopathic tincture “Chelidonium”“. The developed NTD are approved
by MHSP of the Republic of Moldova.
