Summary

Structure of the thesis: Doctoral thesis includes annotation, introduction, three chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 149 titles, 172 basic text pages, including 52 tables, 63 figures and 6 annexes. Research is reflected in 16 scientific publications.

Field of study: international finance, currency and credit, economic analysis. The purpose of the paper is to theoretically and methodologically substantiate the process of ensuring the financial-currency balance in conditions of economic instability.

Objectives of the research: conceptual study on the financial-currency balance; assessing the impact of the balance of payments on the functionality of the national economy; highlighting the factors affecting the balance of payments mechanisms and their balance; determining the correlation between the balance of payments and the national currency in the context of the latest European directives; research into the links between globalization and financial stability; crisis analysis as an effect of the financial-currency imbalance; comparative analysis with international models on ensuring the financial-currency balance by applying the payment method; identification and argumentation of the solutions for ensuring the financial-currency balance in conditions of economic instability.

Scientific novelty and originality consists in: conceptual development of the role of instruments to ensure the financial-currency balance in conditions of economic instability; identification, adaptation, systematization and argumentation of methods of analysis of the evolution of the macroeconomic financial-currency balance, with emphasis on the use of the balance of payments as an element of influence and control; proposing measures used in banking activity to finance credit agreements to minimize associated risks; the elaboration of the methodological framework and the formulation of proposals based on the questioning of payment outcomes on the banking market; developing recommendations on ensuring the financial-currency balance in Romania by implementing the pay-out method.

The important scientific problem solved in the research field consists in the scientific and methodological substantiation of the financial-currency balance in conditions of economic instability, which confirmed the necessity of elaborating and applying the method of payment in order to ensure the financial-currency balance in Romania.

The theoretical significance and the applicative value of the thesis are determined by the systematization and synthesis of the theoretical approaches regarding the financial-currency balance in conditions of economic instability; the systematization of the theories on external balance of payments as a tool for macroeconomic analysis and for reflecting the currency equilibrium; the scientific and methodological approach to the links between financial globalization and financial crises; elaboration of the analytical framework for the assessment of the macroeconomic and financial-monetary indicators through the models for ensuring the financial-currency balance; developing recommendations for the implementation of the pay-as-you-go method to stimulate the financial-currency balance in Romania. The researches made constitute methodological elements for future scientific investigations. At the same time, the thesis can be proposed as a bibliographic source in the didactic process of higher education institutions, etc.

Implementation of scientific results. The results of the research were accepted to be implemented by S.C.ATRACTIV CONSULTING S.R.L., S.C. HESTIA Assistance Finserv S.R.L. and GAUDEAMUS-UNIVERSITY TOMIS FOUNDATION in Constanta. The two economic agents carry out credit intermediation and consultancy activities in the financial and banking field, harmonizing with the banking regulations in force.
