The thesis is dedicated to the chemical and morphological analysis of municipal solid waste composition, including to the assessment of the greenhouse gas emissions from the landfills. Detailed analysis of feasibility study on landfills inventory, had been performed in order to establish methane correction factor as well as for the selection of 3 landfills, which were used as a real system for the study of biogas production.
The thesis presents experimental data on dynamics of the process of biogas generation at 3 landfills: s. Cretoaia, c. Balti and c. Straseni during one year. There was studied the role of waste amounts and composition, meteorological conditions, as well as landfill’s management on the process of biogas generation.
The obtained results offer the opportunity to establish national emissions factors and improve the IPCC 2006 (Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change) methodologies and Emission Factors for assessing the GHG emissions originated from waste sector
