The thesis examines methodological and practical aspects of the diagnosis and the estimation of economic potential of the production enterprises.
There were considered the definitions of the economic potential, its diagnosis and evaluation. Also, the author systemized the concepts of the foreign and local economists concerning the economical potential as the object of business evaluation of the firm. Especially there were discussed the structure of the economic potential, the factors that determine him and the correlation between its consisting elements.
The author examines the mostly used diagnostic models in foreign countries, and presents the possibilities to adjust them to the demands of the National Accounting System and to the local actual business conditions.
There was selected and presented the system of general indicators that may be utilized for the appreciation of the local enterprises performances and for the express analysis of their activity.
At the same time, the special stress was placed on the economic potential examinations trough the potential, business regulation and strategic factors, also the use of the aggregative indicators for the estimation of the enterprises business compatibility.
To improve the methods of diagnosis and estimation of the economic potential there was adapted a new model, based on a system of aggregative indicators, which was presented as a soft program called “DIAGNOZA”.
The model implemented in the diagnosis and the estimation of the economic potential gives an appreciation for the economic and financial results of the enterprise also its perspectives for the growth in long term developing conditions.
