Summary

Vetrila Snejana’s, PhD thesis in medicine “Clinical and Paraclinical Aspects of the Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies”, Chisinau, 2009 is exposed on 96 pages of typed text and it contains: introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions and practical recommendations. The thesis is illustrated with 23 tables, 29 diagrams, 7 annexes; the bibliography index quotes 215 sources. The results were published in 13 scientific works.

Domain of research: Rheumatology.

The aim of study: To assess the clinical - evaluative peculiarity and to estimate the importance of laboratory investigations in the diagnosis of Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies.

Objectives of the research: To point out the presenting features of the Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies, to estimate the role of electromyography and muscle biopsy, to particularize systemic manifestations, to perform information obtained by the set core tools, to determinate the variables with prognostic value in the polymyositis and dermatomyositis. Methodology of the research: In the study frame there have been involved the fallowing research methods: history, physical examination, laboratory testing, special investigations, and statistical methods.

Novelty and originality of the research: It has been done a scientific study of patients with polimyositis and dermatomyositis using a multidimensional evaluation of a study group. There has been made and also proved a diagnostic program and a model of consequences prognostication of the Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies.

Theoretical value: The results of the research proved to be useful and informative regarding the modern assessment of myositis disease activity and damage by tools: Manual Muscle Test - MMT, Visual Analogical Scale - VAS patient/doctor, Disease Activity Score - DAS, Myositis Damage Index - MDI.

Applied value: The study issued the prototype of assessment for the patient with muscular weakness or/and muscular pains using Bohan A., Peter J.diagnostic criteria for the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies identification. Practical implementation: The principles which where proved by the study have been valued in the education process at the Internal Medicine No. 3 Department of SMPhU “N.Testemitanu”, and IV-th Department of the Institute of Cardiology.
