Summary

Dissertation structure: introduction, four chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography comprising 279 titles, 13 annexes, 159 essential text pages, 3 figures, 5 tables, 3 lists, 2 petition surveys. Doctoral dissertation results were presented in 10 articles published in specialized reviews from the Republic of Moldova. The whole amount of publications on the given theme is about 13,33 author sheets.

Study domain. The present work is a scientific research on migration phenomenon and on legal status of aliens in public international law.

Goal and objectives of the work. The goal of the work is to conceptualize causes, conditions and determinative factors of international migrations, to analyze and emphasize the evolutionary process of migration phenomenon and its legal settlement on international level, making a comparative analysis of different laws regarding aliens of European Union member states, as well as its settlement in the Republic of Moldova.

Scientific novelty and originality. Scientific novelty of the thesis is provided by argumentation of necessity for delimitation of international policy in migration domain and its importance from the state of origin and host state view-points, being suggested its political-legal feature as well as analysis of each legal national and international act in migration domain.

Theoretical significance. Methodology used in this thesis denotes the interdisciplinary character of research and it corresponds with modern tendencies of juridical science development. Conclusions and recommendations that have been obtained can be used in improvement of migration policy of the Republic of Moldova and in advancement of legal framework in the given domain.

Practical value of the work. Research results can serve as additional course support material for Public International Law, or they can be used in elaboration of new special courses, as for instance, Foreign Citizens Law, Refugee Law etc.

Implementation of scientific results. The results of the research are used during the education process, in particular for the teaching of the Refugees Law course within the Moldavian University of European Studies.
