Summary

Thesis structure: The thesis includes introduction, three chapters, conclusion and recommendations, references of 242 titles, 26 figures, 26 tables, 23 appendixes, 135 text pages.

The results are being published in 9 scientific publications.

Field of study of the thesis: theoretical - methodological approach in trade, frame of cooperative trade in the home trade context, as well as in trade infrastructure.

The aim of research consists of concretization of theoretical-methodological aspects concerning trade, analysis of the situation in the cooperative trade through the evolution of home trade, of the practices and international perspectives from the field, as well as identification of the development directions of the infrastructure and efficiency of trade activity in consumer cooperation.

The research objectives: concretization of the theoretical – methodological aspects concerning the notion of trade and trade infrastructure; analysis of trade structure and infrastructure; analysis of the modern forms of retailing; identification of the rural market characteristics; analysis of the entrepreneurial context of trade; analysis of the home trade situation; diagnosing the trade infrastructure of consumer cooperation; reasoning proposals for its modernization, efficiency growth of the cooperative and national trade.

Scientific novelty and originality of the research and the obtained results consists of: explanation and supplement of the theoretical basis as regards to trade and trade infrastructure; the complex and multi-sided analysis of the wholesale and retail trade structure and infrastructure from the trade theory and international practices perspective; reasoning the necessity of the settlement elaboration in the field of the wholesale trade; theoretical – methodological substantiation of the shop networks concept, shop format and manual concept model; complex and multilateral analysis of the situation of the trade branch in consumer cooperation, its trade infrastructure and development strategy.

The theoretical significance and the applicative value of the thesis are determined by the application of the theoretical results obtained during the study in the trade activity of the consumer cooperation and in the framework of the home trade. The cooperative trade infrastructure modernization concept will contribute to the trade activity’s optimization and efficiency growth. A significant impact on the home trade will have the proposals for improvement of the trade legal basis, improvement of the wholesale and retail trade unities types etc. The results of the investigation are applied in the didactic process.

The implementation of the scientific results: The practical research results were presented to Moldcoop for examination and decision for implementation. Manual concept for the trade unities of “CoopPrim” and “CoopPlus” formats, elaborated with the author’s participation, is being implemented in the consumer cooperation activity. The author participated at the elaboration of the Strategy of the consumer cooperation development during 2008 – 2011, especially trade and trade infrastructure development, organizational – managerial efficiency growth, economic efficiency assurance in conditions of competition, which was approved by the XIV Congress of the consumer cooperation (14th of December 2007) and it is in the process of implementation.
