The thesis is presented on 109 typed pages and consists of: introduction, 4 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography, containing 248 references, 19 figures, 23 tables, 8 annexes. The results of the study are published in 15 scientific works.
Aim of study: the aim of study is evaluation of current situation concerning professional services provided by community pharmacies, argumentation and development of optimization directions, as well as their implementation, to assure the advanced level of pharmaceutical services provision to the population.
Objectives: 1. study of international regulations of professional pharmaceutical standards and other countries experiences in the field of pharmaceutical services; 2. analysis of demand and offer of pharmaceutical services in Republic of Moldova; 3. evaluation of services’ quality provided by community pharmacies; 4. analysis of factors influencing the quality of pharmaceutical services in Republic of Moldova; 5. elaboration of recommendations regarding improvement of quality of community pharmacy services in Republic of Moldova.
Scientific novelty: For the first time in Republic of Moldova, the principles of appreciation of community pharmacies’ activity have been modified: the community pharmacy services have been evaluated regarding their demand from population and offer from pharmacists, as well the evaluation of information offered during medicines dispensing and that requested by patients; the quality of pharmaceutical services has been determined as the result of measurement of the level of population satisfaction with pharmaceutical services and analysis of internal factors influencing the quality of services. The obtained scientific results have been used as basis for the argumentation of recommendations regarding optimization of community pharmacies services in Republic of Moldova.
Theoretic significance: the theoretic importance of the study consists in the development of pharmaceutical management approaches in the field of pharmaceutical services.
Implementation of scientific outcomes. Due to the obtained results:
The nomenclature of essential pharmaceutical services and their quality indicators has been
developed and adopted by the Ministry of Health;
The continuous education course curricula “Quality management of community pharmacy
services” has been developed and approved. This course has been introduced in Doctors
and Pharmacist Continuous education Plan for 2011;
Practical guideline “Essential pharmaceutical services and their quality assurance” for
community pharmacists has been developed and approved by Experts’ Council of MoH as
methodological support for the implementation of Nomenclature of essential
pharmaceutical services and their quality indicators;
Developed recommendations are implemented by piloting in several community pharmacy
in republic.
