Domain of study: 14.00.21 - Dentistry.
Purpose and objectives of the work: to enhance the treatment efficiency of the medium forms of dental caries in permanent teeth at the prefunctional stage of erruption. The following objectives were set to reach the purpose: to assess medium dental caries in permanent teeth at the prefunctional stage of erruption; to determine efficiency of two-phase treatment of medium dental caries through ART; to establish efficiency of preparation of the enamel margins through drilling in ART; to determine morphological changes of the dentine in case of use of collagen hydroxyapatite.
Scientific novelty and originality: the investigations have focused for the first time on accomplishment of stage-based treatment of medium dental caries in permanent teeth at the prefunctional stage of erruption through ART modification. The proposed method of treatment involves accomplishment of drilling of the margins undermined by the enamel and use of collagen hydroxyapatite. A series of morphological researches on the hard dental tissue have been carried out, which have determined hyperplasia of the odontoblast cells layer.
Theoretical significance: dental caries in permanent teeth at the prefunctional stage of their erruption has been lately revealed more often. This fact required a most rational tactics of stage-based treatment, taking into consideration the structural and morphological peculiarities of these teeth.
Applicative value of the work: assessment of the obtained results and the follow - up analysis have established the definitive development of permanent teeth subjected to treatment and allowed to obtain a veridical reduction of occurence of secondary marginal caries cases.
Implementation of the scientific results: the basic principles of the performed researches have been implemented in the didactic and curative process within the Department of Pediatric OMF Surgery, Pedodontics and Orthodontics from SMPhU „N.Testemițanu”. The study results have been applied in daily practice of MSPI Municipal Stomatological Center for Children.
