Doctoral degree thesis in medicine, Chisinau, 2011. The thesis contains introduction, 4 chapters, conclusions and practical recommendations, it is presented on 119 pages of typed text, illustrated with 26 tables and 16 diagrams, reference list quotes 178 sources and 10 appendices. The results of the thesis were published in 18 scientific works.
Domain of research: Rheumatology.
Aim of study: studying neurologic syndromes in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and their impact on quality of life.
Study objectives include: analysis of clinical features and determination of the diagnostic importance of the investigations parameters in patients with neuropsychiatric manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus, estimation of the application value of diagnostic battery of NPSLE tests for lupus patients’ evaluation, detection of the whole spectrum of central and peripheral nervous system lesions through ACR specific criteria in SLE, analysis of the correlation: clinical/immunological/neurolupus, quality of life scoring in patients with nervous system involvement in SLE.
Study novelty and originality: there was performed a analytic integral evaluation of the peculiarities of neuropsychiatric entities in systemic lupus erythematosus, while using a novel approach in quality of life determination with short form - 36 (SF-36) in neurolupus.
Theoretical value: The results of the research have proved utility and informational value of the modern methods of diagnostic evaluation of neurolupus patients from Republic of Moldova.
Practical value: There was elaborated a complex assessment model for patients’ evaluation with neurolupus, through the clinical course manifestations of the neurological syndromes, evaluation tools, psychometric tests, questionnaires for quality of life assessment.
Practical implementation: The results of the study have been implemented in educational
process at the Internal Medicine Nr. 3. Department of the State Medical and Pharmaceutical
University “Nicolae Testemiţanu”, and in practical work of the 4th Department of the Institute of
Cardiology.
