The increase of national results in Romanian sport, the growth of the efficiency of organizing sport activities, are dependent, to a large extent, on management. Objectively, today it is required to analyze and assess the present situation and, based on it, to elaborate proposals with regard to improving management in sport. The present PhD thesis, which includes introduction, four chapters, conclusions and proposals, proposes to research the impact of management on the development of sport in Romania.
In the introduction, actuality is argued for, aims and goals are formulated, the scientific novelty, the theoretical and practical value of the results obtained are outlined.
In the first chapter, making use of literature which sums up 268 bibliography sources, the theoretical bases of management are expressed, their application in sport management.
In the second chapter, making use of rich statistical information, the following are analyzed: the socio-economic situation in Romania, the role of sport and the problems of its development, the infusion brought by economy to the development of sport in Romania and abroad.
The third chapter includes the research of the relations between management and sport in Romania. Here are analyzed the peculiarities of the human resources subsystem, of the organizational and informational subsystems, the specific aspects of the decisions subsystems, methods and techniques utilized in management of national sport, their mutual interdependence and influence.
In the forth chapter, the ways to rationalize and modernize the complex system of management in sport are formulated and expressed.
The total of the theoretical bases applied in sport management, the comparative analysis of practicing applying the experience accumulated in Romania and abroad, allowed the outlining of the components of the management system which are not adequate to forming market relations in the national economy and do not correspond to the European standards. Careful analysis of the inquiry materials helped the competitor establish the relations between the management system and sport, and specify the diagnosis of the dependency of sport development on the management system. In the thesis, the mathematical model is proposed which allows finding solutions for more efficiently utilizing the human, financial and material potential, as well as other resources necessary for the development of sport in Romania. In the dissertation, there are proposed measures that would allow increasing sport development by means of perfecting the management system.
