Summary

Field of study: Communication Sciences.

The aim of the paper: determine the specific activity of local press in Moldova, identifying development framework, principles of operation and design choices and elucidating its potential coverage of socio-cultural reality.

Objectives: analysis of the role, place and functions of local media in contemporary media environment; research framework to develop local media in Moldova; elucidating the principles of operation and coverage of the socio-cultural reality of the local level; media products placed in speech analysis circuit through the local media.

Scientific novelty consists in elucidating the development trends of domestic local media, its principles functional during the realization of the massive potential and specific information of its discourse.

Important scientific problem solved is expressed by developing an overview on local media activity analysis in Moldova, which ensured determining development framework and its principles functioning in the context of contemporary media. It has also been established sociocultural identity discourse of the local print media in Moldova.

The theoretical significance of the thesis lies in creating a theoretical framework for analyzing local media conceptual perspective, structural and functional and its role in reflecting and shaping the socio-cultural reality of the territory.

Value of the work consists of research findings on the ability of local media to reflect socio-cultural reality in factual information and empirical study materials that can serve as a methodological basis for editorial policy of local newspapers and benchmarks for improving their work.

Implementation of scientific results: Scientific results have been implemented through the publication of 11 articles and studies and contributions to national and international conferences.
