Summary

Field of study: 323.01 – Dentistry.

The purpose and objectives: There was assessed the feasibility and effectiveness of inhaled analgesia in the treatment of caries and pulpitis, there was researched the spectrum of its applicationin comparison to usual local and regional anesthesia involving injection techniques. We have evaluated the anxiety and pain of patients, before and after treating caries and pulpitis, we have assessed the hemodynamic parameters based on the used analgesia technique; we have evaluated the immediate and distant results in the treatment of caries and pulpitis under the effect of methoxyflurane, we have developed an algorithm for executing inhaled analgesia using methoxyflurane in the treatment of caries and pulpal diseases.

Research methodology. The study is a prospective clinical trial. The studied sample included comparable groups. Data collection was of a "reference group" type.

Scientific novelty: There was analyzed the action of the inhaled analgesia in the treatment of dental caries and pulpitis, and there was developed an algorithm for its use depending on the diagnosis and the clinical situation.

The scientific problem solved in the thesis is the development and implementation of an in halatory analgesic technique used as an alternative to the traditional injectable one.

The theoretical significancelies in demonstrating the mechanism of action and effectiveness of inhaled analgesia in dentistry, its harmless effect on the overall condition of the patient.

The practical value of the thesis: In order to achieve control over pain and anxiety, there has been proposed a management protocol regarding inhaled analgesia as an alternative to other complicated and invasive techniques.

Implementation of scientific results: The results of the study were presented at national and international scientific forums. The described technique has been implemented in the treatment of dental caries and pulpitis at the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of State Medical and Pharmacy University "Nicolae Testemițanu" and has been implemented at the following dental practices : ”Compodent”, ”Dicri-Med” și ”Estetic Dent” in Chisinau municipality.
