Field of study: entrepreneurship development and support.

Research goal are to: analyze and synthesis of theoretical bases of entrepreneurship and supporting it in order to support development of entrepreneurship and to develop proposals to improve the forms and methods of business support in Moldova, focusing on innovative enterprises. Research objectives are to analyze and systematize the main entrepreneurial characteristics and groups; to synthesize the international experience in terms of entrepreneurship support forms and methods in order to adapt this experience in Moldova (with a focus on institutional support of the innovative enterprises); analyze the current situation and trends of business development in Moldova; identify peculiarities of development of the main groups of Moldovan enterprises; analyze the basic components of business support policy currently used in Moldova; justify and develop the most appropriate principles, directions, forms and methods of business support for Moldova (with a focus on institutional support for innovative enterprises); develop proposals to improve the use of scientific results in industry through innovation university incubators.

Important scientific problem solved is the theoretical and methodological development of forms and methods of entrepreneurial activity support with a focus on innovative companies which provide confirmation of the need to promote organization of the innovative business incubators and clusters.

Scientific novelty of the theses are systematization of basic definitions and characteristics of entrepreneurial activity highlighting the most important business groups; synthesis by the forms and methods of supporting entrepreneurship; developing the methodology for calculating the "portrait" of a group of medium enterprises in Moldova; identify peculiarities of development of the main groups of enterprises according to types of ownership, size and types of activity; identify impediments on entrepreneurial development in Moldova; argumentation and developing the most appropriate principles, directions, forms and methods of business support in Moldova, with a focus on institutional support of innovative businesses.

Applicative value of the research is development of the proposals - directions, forms and methods of business support, some have already found application in entrepreneurship development policy and can be used in teaching. The practical importance also lies in developing proposals to strengthen cooperation between entrepreneurs and researchers within the university incubators of innovation and development of a curriculum concept for training mediators and managers of clusters
