Summary

Work structure: introduction, 3 chapters, conclusions and recommendations, bibliography of 247 sources, 8 annexes, and 140 pages of basic text. The results of the thesis have been published in 23 scientific articles.

Area of research represents political science, theory of European integration, European institutions, procesess and policies.

The purpose and objectives of the work. The purpose is theoretical-conceptual research of external and internal dimensions in the European integration process and analyticalapplicative investigation of their interdependence in the case of the Republic of Moldova.

The research goal implied the following objectives: the conducting analysis of historiography of external and internal dimensions in the European integration process; conceptual identification of the integration process and of external and internal dimensions in the European integration process; formulation of methodological approaches of the external and internal dimensions in the European integration process; study of practice of EU member states from Central and Eastern Europe in realization of external and internal dimensions in the European integration; research of manifestation of external and internal dimensions in the European integration of the Western Balkan states; appreciation of the evolution of the external and internal dimensions in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova; evaluation of the interdependence of the external and internal dimensions in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova at current stage and in prospect.

Scientific novelty and originality consists in the presentation of the conceptual and analytical-applicative approach of the external and internal dimensions in the European integration process and in the introduction in national science and practice of the concepts of external dimensions and internal dimensions in the European integration process.

The important scientific problem solved in the research is the determination and conceptualization of the external and internal dimensions in the European integration process that have led to argumentation of their interdependence in order to establish the impact and the role of the dimensions in the realization of the European vector of the Republic of Moldova. The theoretical significance of the research lies in completing the conceptual framework for conducting investigations of interdisciplinar character on the European integration process by higlighting its external and internal dimensions; identification of some lessons for the Republic of Moldova from European experience; and justifying the need of consolidation of internal dimensions in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova.

Applicative value of the research. Research results, conclusions and synthesized recommendations can serve as a foundation for the decision-making authorities to realize the objectives of European integration of the Republic of Moldova. Results of research can be applied in the development of specialized courses in the field of international relations and European studies.

Implementation of scientific results. The research results are reflected in academic papers that were presented at national and international conferences; in articles published in scientific journals; in activity of author as lecturer at International Relations Department of the Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences of the Moldova State University.
