The use of mineral trioxide aggregate in the treatment of acute focal pulpitis” Thesis of the PhD candidate, Chisinau, 2018 Structure of the thesis: The thesis is exposed on 142 pages of printed text, it is classically divided in: the list of abbreviations, introduction, 4 chapters, general conclusions and practical recommendations, bibliography from 215 titles, 4 annexes, 8 formulas. The results obtained are published in 10 scientific publications, 2 patents have been obtained. Keywords: acute focal pulpitis, direct capping, indirect capping, mineral trioxide aggregate, calcium hydroxide, inflammation.
Research field: 323.01 - Stomatology.
Aim of the research:To evaluate the efficacy of using mineral trioxide aggregate to develop an optimal algorithm for the treatment of acute focal pulpitis.
Objectives of the research: The evaluation of the clinical and paraclinical manifestations of acute focal pulpitis in the treatment dynamics of the mineral trioxide aggregate. Comparative analysis of results by treatment of acute focal pulpitis with mineral trioxide aggregate and calcium hydroxide. Comparative evaluation by measuring of adenosine triphosphate of bacterial biofilm of carioactivity adjacent to restorative materials. Elaborate an optimal algorithm for obtaining a rapid healing using the mineral trioxide aggregate.
The scientific novelty of the research: For the first time in our country, several methods of application of the mineral trioxide unit have been developed and used in the treatment of the acute focal pulpitis. For the first time, the clinical and paraclinical manifestations of the acute focal pulpitis were assessed in the dynamics of the mineral trioxide aggregate. For the first time, a comparative analysis of the physico-chemical properties of the mineral trioxide aggregate and calcium hydroxide in dynamics was performed and the comparative evaluation by measuring the adenosine triphosphate of the bacterial biofilm adjacent to the restorative materials. An optimal algorithm for the treatment of acute focal pulpitis has been developed.
>The scientific problem solved: Elucidation of the decisive properties in the use of MTA with the elaboration of an optimal algorithm in the treatment of PAF by restoration of the vital functions of the teeth.
Theoretical significance and applicative value of the study: The results obtained in the research offer the possibility for dental practitioners to extend the theoretical and practical knowledge by reducing the post-treatment complications of the acute focal pulpitis by using direct capping method.
Implementation of scientific results: The results of the investigations were implemented at I.M.S.P. Stomatological University Clinic of USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" (Act No. 8 of 31.07.2017); at I.M.S.P. Republican Dental Polyclinic (Act No. 12 of 06.08.2017); at I.M. Municipal Dental Center (Act No. 13 from 06.08.2017).
