Summary

Study domain: International and European Public Law.

Goal of the thesisis to achieve a comprehensive study of the concept and phenomenon of international conflict, the forms of its finalization, as well as the international legal framework in the field, in order to elucidate their current particularities and the political and legal issues that are striking the process of effective conflict resolution in the contemporary world.

The objectives: the elucidation of the essence of the international conflict and the presentation of the system and of its dynamics; the identification of the types and peculiarities of the international contemporary conflicts; the presentation of the forms and methods of finalization of conflicts; the assessment of the role of the regulation of international conflicts for their efficient settlement; the disclosure of the essence and peculiarities of the control and management of conflicts as methods of their settlement; the argumentation of the necessity of the lawfulness of the means of settling the international conflicts; the fulfillment of a case study for the American-Iraqi and Transdniestrian conflict for elucidating the main deficiencies that stop the process of their settlement.

Scientific novelty and originality. The thesis contains a series of conclusions and scientific recommendations that come to fill in the legal problems in the field of contemporary international conflicts settlement, of the international regulatory and legal frame and the reconceptualization of the international policies in the field of the settlement and management of conflicts.

Solutioned important scientific problem consists in the complex analysis of the peculiarities of the contemporary international conflicts and the process of solving them, which has allowed the elucidation of the main political and legal issues affecting their regulation and management, an important and necessary moment to identify solutions to optimize international law in the field.

Theoretical significance. The results of the investigation can be benefic to the continuous development of the public international law, of the political science, of the science about conflicts, and, especially, they will contribute to the amplification and thoroughness of the theoretical knowledge regarding the international conflict and the efficient means for its settlement. Practical value of the thesis. The results obtained can serve as orientative reference points for the consequent research of the issue studied, they can be used in the didactic process, as a theoretical and practical basis during the specialty courses.

Implementation of the scientific results. The results of the research, the conclusions and the recommendations formulated, have been exposed in scientific articles published in specialized journals published in the country and abroad, as well as discussed in the national and international scientific conferences.
