Summary

Study sphere, purpose and objectives of the thesis. The thesis deals with the criminalistical technique, having as a purpose: the elaboration of recommendations regarding the improvement of the legislation that regulates the application of technical means in the criminal process, the algorithm of applying the particular means in field research, suggestions to incorporate the odorological method and new means in the technical arsenal of crime scene investigation. Objectives: to analyse the publications related to the topic, to determine the concept, tasks, structure and connections of the criminalistical technique, to classify the technical-criminalistical means and to display the principles of their usage, to demonstrate the necessity of the processual regulation of only the principles of using the technical means without indicating the concrete equipment in the particular norms, to formulate the notion of crime scene and crime scene investigation, to systematise the technical-criminalistical methods and means of searching, discovering and revealing traces at the crime scene, to emphasise and characterise the technical means of preserving, fixing and lifting material evidence, to formulate the methodological and technical particularities applied at the preliminary investigation of the traces at the crime scene.

Scientific novelty and originality. The scientific novelty of the thesis is determined by the fact that it is one of the first monographic research on this topic in our country that served as support for the formulation of recommendations to improve the processual-criminal legislation and algorithms of finding human corpses. Its originality consists in the argumentation of applying the odorological method in the activity of investigation at the crime scene.

The theoretical importanceconsists in the development of the doctrine of applying the technical-criminalistical methods and means of crime scene investigation, considering the recent technical-scientific achievements, the exigencies regarding the practice of fighting criminality.

The practical valueconsists in the enhancement of the quality and results of the crime scene investigation and optimization of the activity of revealing and investigating crimes in general.

The implementation of scientific results is attested as a theoretical- practical guide in the activity of the Technical-Criminalistical Division of the MIA of Moldova, the Independent Centre of Expertise, as well as in the form of scientific-didactical material with the purpose of making more efficient the educational process at the law faculty of the European Studies University of Moldova, „Ştefan cel Mare” Academy, the MIA of Moldova, the Free International University of Moldova.
