Summary

The structure of the work: introduction, 4 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography consisting of 212 titles, 165 basic text pages, annexes. The results obtained are published in 6 scientific papers. Keywords: sexual exploitation offences, women, children, victims, criminality, criminogenic factors, personality of the offender, preventive measures.

Goals and objectives of the work. The purpose of the paper is to analyse the complex criminology of sexual exploitation of women and children. In order to achieve the proposed goal the following objectives were set: illumination of statistical dimensions and criminological peculiarities referring to the offences in the sphere of sexual exploitation of women and children; identification and analysis of criminogenic factors; studying of the criminological characteristics of the offender’s personality; revealing and analysing the characteristics specific to victims of sexual exploitation; profiling of general and special-criminological measures to prevent the phenomenon of sexual exploitation of women and children; addressing a set of victim-oriented measures aimed at preventing sexual exploitation of women and children.

Novelty and scientific originality. The paper is a monograph study with reference to the criminological dimensions of sexual exploitation of women and children, on the basis of which were identified the particularities and trends of this type of crimes, analysed the criminogenic factors, characteristics of offenders and victims of sexual exploitation, and finally there were proposed a series of measures aimed at improving the activity of preventing the investigated phenomenon.

Scientific problem solved in this study consists in elucidation and complex criminological analysis of the main features specific to the sexual exploitation of women and children, followed by conclusions and proposals aimed at improving the work of law enforcement authorities with competences in the field of preventing and combating of this phenomenon.

Theoretical significance and practical value of the work. The study deals not only with the most current criminological problems of the sexual exploitation of women and children in the theoretical doctrinal pattern, but also focuses on making concrete recommendations, aiming to increase the efficiency of prevention activity of the investigated phenomenon. Implementation of scientific results. The conclusions and recommendations formulated in the paper find their applicability in the development of new scientific studies, in the process of legal norms’ drafting, in the educational programs of the educational institutions and in the activity of the law enforcement bodies aimed at preventing and fighting the criminal phenomenon. 7
