Summary

The thesis consists of: introduction, 4 chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, bibliography (257 titles), 139 pages of basic text, 2 attachments, total value – 190 pages. Field of study: 651.01 – Plastic Art Theory and History The aim of the research consists in the complex examination of the figurative easel painting from the Moldovan SSR through the prism of the evolutionary, stylistic and morphological process.

The research objectives focus on: 1) examining the evolutionary process of the figurative painting in fine arts in the Soviet period (1945–1991) and establishing specific creative periods and stages; 2) identifying the plastic strategy of the figurative form; 3) understanding the semantic message of the figurative image;4) highlighting the role and function of the figurative painting in promoting the national values; 5) carrying out a repertoire of works which represent the Moldovan figurative easel painting from the research period (1945-1991) and introducing in the scientific circuit of unique data with reference to figurative painting as part of the country's artistic heritage.

The scientific novelty of the work lies in the detailed investigation, elaboration and premiere of a complex scientific research on the easel figurative painting from the Moldovan SSR with the exposure of the metamorphoses from the plastic and semantic substrate of the works.

The obtained result consists in the integration and multilateral systematization of the creation of plastic artists and especially of the evolution of Moldovan figurative painting from 1945–1991, by emphasizing the plastic and semantic values in the canvas of the works.

The theoretical significance of the thesis is versatile both theoretically, the scientific fructification of figurative painting inherited from the Soviet period, and applied, through methodological solutions proposed in the analysis and presentation of figurative painting, introducing new scientific materials necessary for thorough study of the history and theory of fine arts.

The applicative value offers new possibilities for theoretical-scientific evaluation of the figurative painting, opportune in further research, professional teaching process, cultivation of the social-artistic environment and completing the value of the national cultural heritage. Implementation of the scientific results of the thesis: in 16 articles, 4 scientific theses and 11 communications at national and international conferences.
