Summary
The paper is divided in the following manner: introduction, 3 chapters, general conclusions and practical recommendations, bibliography in titles, 125 pages of typed text, which include 63 figures and 6 tables. Result of the study where published in 17 scientific papers
Field of research: 323.01 – Dentistry
Purpose and objectives: For a minimal 1 year observation period, the effects which lie upon the periodontal area of teeth which where crown lengthened where observed. For an extra precision, dimensional data where collected from casted models in order to be calculated in prospective way. Additionally clinical parameters of periodontal nature which might change after the surgical procedure where studied (mobility, pocket probing, bleeding on probing, soft and hard deposits), as also endodontic parameters and prosthetic components that followed the procedure. The complete analysis of the changes that follow after crown lengthening procedure is essential in understanding of the following outcomes.
Research Methodology. The study is a prospective clinical trial. The studied sample included comparable groups.
Scientific novelty: The present study is unique in the research approach of the entity perio-surgery-endo-prosthetic analysis of the changes that follow after crown lengthening procedure. All of the dimensional data were collected extraoral, in the most precise way, the casted models being raw data might be useful for further analysis
The scientific problem solved in the thesis consists of demonstration of soft tissue rebound by means of individual parameters, and new data on the changes of keratinized band modification
The theoretical significance consists in demonstration of particularities of rebound that follow after the procedure, in accordance to periodontal biotype, a series of paradigms which are considered absolute to date should be reconsidered (changes in the band of the keratized band)
The practical value of the thesis is the awareness of the changes that follow after the procedure, which is crucial for the final execution of the case and prophylaxis of the possible complications
The implementation of scientific results where done by articles published in the scientific journals, the described techniques where utilized in dental offices ‘‘Parodent’’ and ‘‘Simplu dental’’
