Summary

The structure of the thesis. The thesis consists of: introduction, four chapters, general conclusions and recommendations, 159 bibliographic sources, 110 pages of plain text, 44 figures, 18 tables, 7 annexes. The results obtained are published in 9 scientific papers, of which 4 publications without a co-author.

Purpose of the thesis: establishing of the spatio-temporal variability of the climatic parameters that characterize the summer season on the territory of the Republic of Moldova in the context of regional climate change, highlighting the vulnerable areas to the weather-climate risks in the summer season, knowledge of which is extremely important for the adequate development of economic activities at regional and local level.

Research objectives: identification, collection and processing of statistical data characterizing the spatio-temporal variability of climatic parameters and meteorological-climatic risks on the territory of the Republic of Moldova for the summer season, with the elaboration of informational databases for the study period 1961-2019; calculation of climatic indices, useful in highlighting the temporal characteristics of the manifestation of dry days, evaporability, climatic water deficit in the summer months; classification of summers (hot/cold) according to the degree of intensity of the thermal factor on the territory of the country and elaboration of their register; elaboration of digital maps at regional and local level (topoclimatic), which reflect the current climatic conditions in the summer season, with the emphasis of the vulnerable areas to the meteorological-climatic risks on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The scientific novelty and originality: For the first time in the context of regional climate change were made: weather-climate characterization of summers in the Republic of Moldova for the last 30 years and elaboration of their register based on established summer types (hot / cold) by frequency, duration and intensity value of the thermal factor; estimating the climatic indices that highlight the temporal peculiarities of the manifestation of dry days, of the potential evaporation (E0) and of the Climatic Water Deficiency (DEF), in monthly and seasonal aspect; estimating the role of the physicalgeographical factor in the redistribution of climatic indices at local level (based on the cartographic models regarding the thermal and pluviometry regime of the summer season), with the establishment of spatial differences regarding the sum of daytime temperatures over 15 ºС, summer duration and number of dry days.

The obtained results which contribute to the solvation of the important scientific problem consist in establishing the spatio-temporal variability of the climatic parameters that characterize the summer season on the territory of the Republic of Moldova in the context of regional climate change, highlighting the vulnerable areas of the country, knowledge of which is extremely important for the proper adaptation of economic activities at regional and local level.

The theoretical significance. It was established the spatio-temporal variability of the current climatic conditions, as well as of the meteo-climatic risks, attributed to the summer season of the study period, with the quantification of the different manifestation degree of the thermal and pluviometric regime as well as of the unfavorable phenomena conditioned by the manifestation of dry days, potential evaporation, humidity deficit and pluviometric excesses.

The applicative significance:. It was elaborated a set of digital maps that reflects the spatiotemporal variability of the climatic parameters, with the emphasis on the vulnerable areas of the republic compared to the meteorological-climatic risks from the summer season. Also, were developed digital models and maps that display the current and expected climatic conditions (2016-2035) in the summer season at the commune and administrative district level, highlighting the vulnerable areas in the manifestation of the deficit, or on the contrary, of excess humidity.

The implementation of scientific results: a part of the scientific results obtained in the paper were implemented at the level of administrative district (Ialoveni) and commune (Sociteni) in order to adequately adapt the communities in these administrative-territorial units to regional and local climate change, being certified with 6 implementing acts, as well as the incorporation of these results in the Development Strategy of Ialoveni district, confirmed by the Incorporation Certificate. In addition, the scientific results obtained in this paper will be used in higher education institutions to teach courses in this field for students, masters and doctoral candidates.
