Summary

The present research paper refers to matters regarding organization’s change and its impact on firm’s economical and management viability.

The thesis includes the analysis of such concepts as “change” and “change management”, there are defined interrelation between notions like “change” and “organization’s growth”, “change” and ”Business reengineering”. The paper examines the present facts as well as the perspective evolution trends of agricultural machinery engineering industry in the Republic of Moldova. For these purposes a research of the industry’s evolution has been carried out beginning with 1990, thus establishing the importance of agricultural machinery building industry in the Republic of Moldova. It illustrates the specialization of plants from this field. The only organization specialized in tractor engineering in the Republic of Moldova is the joint-stock company named “Tracom”, an affiliated member of the joint-stock “Agromecanica-Holding”. A broad array of economical parameters has been studied for the period 2001-2006.

The economic and management viability analysis of “S.A. Tracom” consists of the analysis of management and its components as well as the analysis of several economic and financial indices during 2003-2005. In order to determine the firm’s potential management and economic viability there have been applied several specific methodologies, such as Altman’s model and the method of economic and management performance evaluation criteria. The author’s conclusion provided by the mentioned methods is that the firm’s economic and management viability potential is situated below the average level, which implies immediate and thoroughgoing changes for the improvement of the organization’s activity. The paper provides several features of change management based on a survey carried out among “Agromecanica-Holding” company’s related firms. The majority’s opinion tends to look forward and accept the necessary changes due to its positive results. At the same time few negative aspects are mentioned as well. A special place in the paper is given to the importance and the way in which the organizations cultural frame and climate, as change-influencing elements, provides a firm’s viability.

For the purpose of organization’s enhancement several prior development perspectives are necessary to be implemented, among them can be mentioned: market reintegration and expansion for the manufactured goods, which involves the assembling of produced machinery directly on the sales markets; product output modernization and upgrade; the implementation of ISO quality system; the opening of a new functional sub zone of products and credit called “Centru” at free economic zone “Expo-Business-Chisinau”. The theoretical aspects and practical recommendations have been implemented at the studied organization during the period author’s activity
