Summary

Under the modern conditions, terrorism is getting less and less local character; it is becoming more and more a global problem threatening the world community. International terrorism is endangering the security of the states and their citizens; it results in serious political, economic and moral consequences, has a strong psychological influence on the people, and takes away many lives. The characteristic peculiarity of international terrorism is the growing number of crimes distinguished by cynicism and brutality.

The thesis deals with the study of the whole complex of theoretical - scientific and practical issues related to the concept of international terrorism in the context of globalization. The aim of the study is to provide the theoretical, methodological and empirical analysis of the essence and elucidate social - political character of the international terrorism in the context of globalization, the basics of the strategy and tactics to combat international terrorism.

The content of the work comprises three chapters that completely reflect the goal the author pursues. The first chapter is of theoretical and methodological character, the second and the third chapters are of applied practical character. The first part of the thesis represents the analysis of the concepts “terrorism”, “international terrorism”, “globalization”, as well as the interrelation between the processes of globalization and an increase in modern international terrorism. The second chapter focuses on the political aspects of globalization, their influence on the evolution of the modern international terrorism and on the international terrorism as a reflection of the tendencies and contradictions of global development. The third part of the work analyses the methods to prevent and combat international terrorism under the conditions of globalization on the national as well as international levels.

The final part of the study presents conclusions and recommendations that are the outcomes of the thorough research of the given issue. The results of the study can be applied in teaching political science, the study of conflicts, philosophy, sociology, and other social sciences in the higher institutions, proficiency trainings for the employees engaged in the state power institutions, as well as in the elaboration of practical recommendations for the state power bodies.
