Summary

This dissertation is dedicated to the study of quality management concept at the clothing enterprises from the Republic of Moldova. Therefore, the scientific and theoretical basis of quality and management quality’s concepts was revealed, the functions and principles were described and the main characteristics of Total Quality Management and its importance in a market economy were presented. Also, the role and position of clothing industry of Moldova in the national economy and world clothing industry were analyzed, evaluation of actual economic and financial situation of branch enterprises was given, main problems were revealed and the strategies for further development suggested. A benchmarking of quality management in the clothing industry was made according to the requirements of international quality standard ISO 9001:2000.

The basic features and structure of international quality standards ISO 9000:2000 were presented in the dissertation, as well as premises and advantages of their implementation at the clothing enterprises from the republic, the model of Quality Management System on the basis of process approach was proposed and implementation stages of the above-mentioned standards were characterized. For further development of branch companies the model of integrated system of management “Quality-Environment-Health and Occupational Securuty” was proposed, the strategy of continuous improvement using PDCA cycle was suggested, the list of quality indicators and tools necessary for the evaluation of Quality System’s effectiveness was developed and the calculation of quality costs and economic efficiency from quality management’s implementation at the clothing industry of Moldova is presented. Economical and mathematical methods were applied that determine the efficiency of clothing plants’ activity.

Theoretical statements and practical recommendations, presented in the dissertation, can be used by clothing enterprises and will assure a normal functioning of the branch in the Republic of Moldova.
