Summary

In the thesis the author considers the works for violin and piano written by the composers from the Republic of Moldova in the second half of the 20th century. Special attention is paid to the violin miniatures by the composers D. Ghershfeld, D. Fedov, S. Lobel, Z. Tcach, Gh. Neaga, and B. Dubossarsky. Large-scale cycle compositions are analyzed as well: suites by P. Rivilis and Gh. Neaga, sonatas by L. Gurov, Gh. Neaga, V. Zagorsky, V. Rotaru, and B. Dubossarsky. The works under consideration are studied from the point of view of their content and form, peculiarities if the musical language, treatment of the genre, characteristic features of the style, composition and dramaturgy. Special attention is given to the performing aspect, giving methodical recommendations for overcoming technical difficulties.

The works for violin and piano created by the composers of the Republic of Moldova are included in a wider historical-cultural process, being appreciated from the point of view of the role of a given author in the artistic heritage, the evolution of the genre, the development of the musical culture in Moldova. Particular importance is granted to the study of the indicated compositions in the pedagogical aspect, taking into account their significance for the process of instruction in musical lyceums, colleges as well as in institutions of higher education. From this point of view they are treated in another context: they are considered as models of international classical music for violin that are used for training young violinists. Therefore, when analyzing the works for violin, written by the Moldovan composers special emphasis is laid on the methodical and pedagogical aspect that specifies their importance for the process of musical education.

In connection with the mentioned facts, attention is attracted to another side of the cultural-historical process. It is a question of the formation and development of the pedagogy of teaching violin music in the Republic of Moldova. The activity of the leading violin performers is described here – a special place belongs to the composers, violin performers and teachers Gh. Neaga and B. Dubossarsky.

The main theoretical principles of the thesis are illustrated by music examples. The list of literature is annexed. Supplementary detailed information referring to the content of the main parts of the thesis is given in the appendix, where one can find data on the premises for the appearance of professional performance on the violin in Bassarabia, on the pedagogy and the composition activity; a list of the leading violinists-teachers who work in the city of Chishinau is given too. There is also material about the period when miniatures, suites and sonatas for violin were created by the composers of the republic, annotations of the creative activity of the most important authors that indicate the place of the music for violin.
