Summary

This Thesis is dedicated to the research of the concept of forest management as an important component in the long-term development of the Republic of Moldova. In this way the meaning and evolution of the management as a science were characterized, the concept of forest management in the contemporary economy was presented, forest resources and world trends concerning the development of forest management were described. In the same time, the forest sector from the Republic of Moldova was described, the management of local forest fund was analyzed, economic indices evaluated and identified the problems and perspectives of local forest sector.

In the Thesis the strategy of remodeling forest management as the condition of the long-term development in the Republic of Moldova was suggested and proved from the economic point of view, the namely were presented the main directions of the state policy in the field of forest management and strategical directions for forest management’ remodeling. Also, the correlation analysis was applied for forest management remodeling.

Theoretical approaches and practical recommendations, presented in the Thesis, can be used in the forest sector from the Republic of Moldova that will contribute to the improvement of its performances and durable development of the country.
